“We worked with Rita to develop a series of family workshops and open studio sessions that playfully explored sound-making and listening called Theatre of Sound. We found this project to be a perfect way of bringing people together to create and share a creative experience in a time when we need to keep physically distanced. We were able to invite families to work together in their bubbles to test ideas and make playable objects, and then celebrate our sounds all together – trying to be loud, quiet, to feel sounds and even make sounds sound like feelings! Rita’s art practice is an amazing exploration of sound. Working in performance and sculpture, she uses her own sonic structures to connect audiences and performers alike.
