A mini microscope to look at how identifying certain attributes on the outside of a lemon could reveal the number of segments inside the lemon (which range from 4 -7). I ask the audience to search for this evidence on the outside of the lemon using the magnifier. They couldn’t figure it out no matter how hard they studied the surface of the fruit. I then cut open the lemon to reveal the number of segments and we discussed the fact, and our hypotheses and findings together over a cup of lemonade with a squeeze of the studied lemon added.
